This may come as a surprise to you but summer is one of the least popular times in NYC and the Northeast to get married. While we all imagine summer weddings to be by the sea with a gentle breeze and beautiful flowers, the reality is that temperatures can reach upwards of 100+ Fahrenheit, the humidity is unbearable and your wedding cake is melting. Even if you plan to host your ceremony and reception inside, keep in mind your hair and makeup or how you’ll feel wearing a tuxedo or large gown in sweltering temperatures while taking photos.
With August and July usually being off the table for many savvy couples, most are looking to get married during spring or fall. This makes the months of April, May, June, September, and October by far the most popular to host your soiree. If one of these are your desired months to wed, keep in mind that prices will be a premium for full service venues and vendor and venue availability will be more limited so give yourself at least a year to plan a wedding during peak season if you have your heart set on a specific venue, photographer or moi.
Happy Planning!
